On Monday, BSE Sensex closed with a hefty gain of 240.22 points, or 1.24%, at 19,603.41, while the broad-based NSE Nifty closed at 5,865 up 102.25 points.
Broker`s Outlook
Bhupendra Sharma, vice president, Hornic Investments, expects the market to trade positive on Tuesday. He is bullish on Reliance Group companies including Reliance Infrastructure, NCL Industries and Videocon Industries.
U.S. stocks declined on Monday. The Nasdaq Composite Index declined ,0.90%, to 2637 the Dow average down by 0.43% to 13314.
Asian markets on Tuesday (Dec. 04, 2007) opened mixed. The Japanese declined, led by the fall in metal prices and concerns of US economy slowdown, while most other markets were trading in the positive. Commodity stocks such as Rio Tinto Group and Nippon Mining Holdings fell after a report showed that US manufacturing in November had slowed down. Steelmakers such as Posco and Komatsu also declined.
Japan`s benchmark index Nikkei fell 78.69 points, or 0.50%, to trade at 15,550.28.
Hong Kong`s Hang Seng advanced 169.17 points, or 0.59%, to trade at 28,827.59.
China`s Shanghai Composite added 53.94 points, or 1.11%, to trade at 4,922.55d.
Taiwan`s Taiex added 31.19 points, or 0.36%, to trade at 8,615.03.
South Korea`s Kospi gained a marginal 5 points, or 0.26%, to trade at 1,907.43.
Crude oil prices rose on Monday (December 3), as investors placed bets on whether the OPEC oil ministers will increase production during a meeting later this week. Light, sweet crude for January delivery rose 60 cents, to settle at USD 89.31 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). Gasoline for January delivery rose 1.95 cents, to settle at USD 2.2501 a gallon on the NYMEX.
