Larsen & Toubro received a contract from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the construction of Elevated Access Road from Western Express Highway (WEH), Mumbai, to the Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport (CSIA).
The contract, valued at Rs 2.87 billion, has to be completed in 30 months.
The scope of work involves design and construction of 1,850 m long 6 lane corridor consisting of pedestrian and vehicular subways, resurfacing of roads at Western Express Highway including the construction of a 1,150 m long, 6 lane elevated access road as well as one 165 m long tunnel. The elevated access road will be built using segmental construction technique.
The project once completed will provide easy and quick access to and from Chatrapathi Shivaji international Airport being developed by Mumbai International Airports.
Shares of the company gained Rs 48.4, or 1.22%, to trade at Rs 4,016.20. The total volume of shares traded was 62,481 at the BSE. (11.42 a.m, Wednesday)
