Jet Airways acquires 5 aircrafts

Jet Airways India announced that the company exercised an option to acquire 5 additional A330-200 aircraft scheduled to be delivered. The company will acquire Aircraft No 11 on October 2009, Aircraft No 12 and 13 by the third quarter of 2010 and also the Aircraft No 14 and 15 by the first quarter of 2011.

These aircrafts were acquired pursuant to the purchase agreement inked in October 2005 with Airbus S.A.S. Toulouse, for ten Airbus 330-200 aircraft. These additional aircraft are being acquired in order to maintain and expand the company`s domestic and international operations.

Shares of the company gained Rs 24.15, or 2.73% to trade at Rs 909.00. The total volume of shares traded was 30,453 at the BSE. (2.44 p.m., Tuesday)
