RCom offers GSM services

Reliance Communications (RCom) said that the Department of Telecommunications (DOT), Government of India, has made the necessary amendments to its Unified Access Service Licenses (UASL), enabling it to offer GSM services in addition to its existing CDMA services.


Consequently, the company will, in due course, offer nation wide GSM services in addition to its existing CDMA services.

Reliance Communications (RCom), a part of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group, was originally incorporated on Jul. 15, 2004 as a private sector company. RCom was formerly known as Reliance Communication Ventures. RCOM has its corporate office in Navi Mumbai, India.

Reliance Communications offers a reliable, high-capacity, integrated (both wireless and wireline) and convergent (voice, data and video) digital network.


Shares of the company gained Rs 19.3, or 2.69%, to trade at Rs 738.00. The total volume of shares traded was 469,122 at the BSE.(10.25 a.m ,Friday ).
