PTC India enters into wind energy sector

PTC India has forayed into wind energy generation business by successfully commissioning its wind farm project in Maharashtra. The company has acquired 11% stake in Teesta Urja, which was presently developing hydro electric project in Sikkim.

The company has successfully ventured into wind energy generation business by commissioning 6 mw wind farm project on March 31. The wind energy project, consisting of four Suzlon machines (1.5 mw) is located at Sinnar in Nashik.

Teesta Urja is presently engaged in developing 1,200 MW Teesta-III Hydra Electric Project in Sikkim.

Shares of PTC closed up Rs 0.55, or 0.59%, at Rs 94.55. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 98,136. (Wednesday)
