Reliance Industries (RIL), India`s biggest private sector company, announced a rise of 23.95% in standalone net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose to Rs 39,120 million from Rs 31,560 million in the same quarter, last year.
Total income for the quarter climbed 36.27% to Rs 375,750 million compared with the prior year period.
For the financial year 2008, the net profit of the company grew 62.92% over fiscal 2007 to Rs 194,580 million. Total income of the company registered a growth of 19.76% over fiscal 2007 to Rs 1,343,380 million.
Shares of the company gained Rs 16.75, or 0.64%, to settle at Rs 2,653.7. The total volume of shares traded was 204,784 at the BSE. (Monday)
