Oil prices continued the record rally, with retail gas prices reaching record high of USD 3.40 a gallon and it is expected to cross USD 4 mark soon. Oil prices, meanwhile, fell slightly after setting yet another record high overnight.
Light sweet crude for May delivery fell 7 cents, to settle at record high of USD 114.86 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).
May gasoline futures rose 1.88 cents to settle at a record USD 2.9578 a gallon. The retail gas prices rose 1.9 cents to a new average national record of USD 3.418 a gallon.
May heating oil futures fell 1.56 cent to settle at USD 3.2674 a gallon at the NYMEX.
In London, June Brent crude futures fell 23 cents to settle at USD 112.43 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
May natural gas futures fell 5 cents to settle at USD 10.383 per 1,000 cubic feet on the NYMEX.
