Kirloskar Brothers net drops 84.99% for Dec`07 qtr

Kirloskar Brothers registered a decline of 84.99% in net profit to Rs 47.70 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007 from Rs 317.70 million in the corresponding quarter, last fiscal.

Net sales stood at Rs 3,225 million in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007, as against Rs 2,813.70 million in the same period last year, recording a growth of 14.62%.

Total income rose 13.90% to Rs 3,271.90 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007 from Rs 2,872.60 million for the same period, last year.

The diluted earning per share, after extra ordinary items, stood at Rs 0.45 for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007.


The company manufactures a wide range of pumps, valves, anti-corrosion products, hydel turbines, etc. Its business areas include fluid-handling, turnkey fluid-handling projects in irrigation, power, process, water supply and sewerage, turnkey small hydel projects and protective surface coating.

Shares of the company declined Rs 10.1, or 2.4%, to settle at Rs 411. The total volume of shares traded was 3,321 at the BSE. (Friday)
