The overall tele-density reached 22.52% at the end of October 2007 as against 21.85% in the previous month. Total of 7.89 million telephone connections have been added during October 2007 as compared to 7.64 million connections in the previous month. The subscriber number crosses 250 million, the target which was set for December 2007.
The gross number of telephone connection reaches 256.55 million at the end of October 2007 as compared to 248.66 million in the previous month.
In the wireless segment, there is an addition of 8.05 million subscribers in the month of October 2007 as against 7.80 million subscribers addition in the previous month. The total wireless subscribers (GSM, CDMA & WLL(F)) base reaches 217.14 million at the end of October 2007.
In the wireline segment, subscriber base decreased to 39.41 million in the month of October 2007 as against 39.58 million subscribers in the previous month.
