Hindalco may drop on dismal Q3 numbers

Hindalco Industries` net profit declined 16% to Rs 542 crore on 1.44% fall in total income to Rs 4646 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q3 December 2006.

Diversified firm Walchandnagar Industries said on Wednesday its board approved raising up to Rs 850 crore.

Dhanuka Agritech said on Thursday its board approved a follow-on public offer to dilute promoters` stake and fund expansion.

State-run power producer NTPC said on Wednesday it would invest about Rs 4375 crore ($1.1 billion) in setting up a power plant in north-east India.

Container Corp of India reported 16.5% growth in net profit to Rs 192.92 crore on 15.2% growth in total income to Rs 884.88 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q3 December 2006.

Wockhardt Hospitals has lowered the price band of its initial public offering to Rs 225-260 per equity share. The revision has been done in the light of current market conditions, the company said in a press release. The company had earlier fixed the price band for its IPO at between Rs 280-310 per equity share. The issue opens on Friday, 1 February 2008 and closes on 5 February 2008.

Karuturi Networks said on Wednesday its board had approved splitting each of its shares into 10. The board had also approved setting up separate subsidiaries for floriculture, food processing and retail businesses, it said in a notice to the BSE.

Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care reported 53.6% growth in net profit to Rs 46.31 crore on 20.6% growth in total income to Rs 197.62 crore in December 2007 quarter over December 2006 quarter.
