TVS Motor, India`s third biggest two wheeler maker, announced today the total sales of two-wheelers of the company dropped by 20.71% in February 2008 to 95,235 units compared to 120,110 units sold in February 2007, reports agency sources.
The company however reported 56.2% jump in two-wheeler exports in February 2008 to 12,523 units compared with 8,017 units exported in prior year period.
Commenting on the performance, the company said that restricted availability of retail finance and high interest rates together with stringent norms followed by financiers continued to affect the sale of two-wheelers.
Shares of the company declined Rs 1.05, or 2.4%, to settle at Rs 42.65. The total volume of shares traded was 1,121,532 at the BSE.(Monday)
