Banking, Metal & IT lead rally : No losers at the BSE Sensex today

The 30-share BSE Sensex is marching ahead on account of sustained buying interest in heavyweights. Banking, metal and IT stocks lead the rally.

The Sensex is currently trading higher at 15,801.61, up 512.21 points, or 3.35%, while the broad based NSE Nifty is trading at 4,757.05, up 147.2 points, or 3.19% (10.45 a.m.).

Out of the total 2,251 stocks traded, 1,428 advanced, 769 declined, while 54 remained unchanged.

Among the sectoral indices, BSE Bankex, Metal and IT surged 4% each, BSE Auto rose 1.74%, and BSE Power was up 3.36%.

Gainers at the BSE Sensex, were Jaiprakash Associates, which soared 6.91% to Rs 214.15, REL surged 6.18% TO Rs 1222.00 and ICICI Bank rose 5.66% to Rs 850.10. DLF, BHEL, TCS, Wipro, Bharti Airtel, RCom and HDFC Bank also gained.

There are no losers at the BSE Sensex.
