Realty, Power pull index down 634.45 points

The 30 share BSE Sensex after re-opening made further inroads in the negative zone. Sustained selling activity is being witnessed across board. Power, realty, metal and IT dragged the index down.

The Sensex is currently trading at 15,493.53, down 634.45 points, or 3.93%, while the broad based NSE Nifty is trading at 4,661.45, down 210.55 points (12.33 p.m.).

Out of the total 1,851 stocks traded, 214 advanced, 1,619 declined, while 18 remained unchanged.

Among the sectoral indices, BSE Auto declined 0.83%, BSE Bankex dipped 3.72%, BSE IT shed 3.66%, BSE Metal dropped 4.86%, BSE Power slumped 5.14%, BSE Realty tanked 6.48%.

Bajaj Auto, which rose 2.44% to Rs 2144.00 and Maruti rose 0.38% to Rs 862.25 are the only two gainers at the BSE Sensex.



Laggards at the BSE include, REL, which dropped 7.48% to Rs 1229.00, followed by BHEL declined 6.77% to Rs 1880 and L&T declined 5.50% to Rs 2778.20. Bharti Airtel, SBI, TCS, ACC and ICICI Bank were among the other losers.
