Car market leader, Maruti Suzuki India announced today marginal growth of 1.30% in vehicle sales in February 2008. It sold a total of 63,822 vehicles in February 2008, including export of 4,511 units, compared with 62,999 vehicles sold in February 2007.
The company`s volume in the domestic A2 segment went up by 2.7%, while in A3 segment the domestic volume grew by 8.9%, compared to sales in February 2007.
During February 2008, the company became India`s first car manufacturer to export 500,000 cars cumulatively.
Shares of the company gained Rs 32.25, or 3.86%, to settle at Rs 867.2. The total volume of shares traded was 573,165 at the BSE.(Friday).
